INDONESIA TO PROMOTE BANYUWANGI ECONOMICS, TOURISM
Banyuwangi, 6 Muharram 1437/20 October 2015 (MINA) – The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is interested in economic progress and tourism of Banyuwangi, East Java province, and will be promoted to many countries.
“To develop economic diplomacy we need a lot of input from various regions in Indonesia that potentially could be promoted. That’s why we visit Banyuwangi to gain more information about the city,” said the Director of Staff College Foreign Affairs ministry (Sesdilu), Nana Yuliana in Banyuwangi, Tuesday.
The potential tourism resort of Banyuwangi are Red Island, Mount Ijen, and variety activities Banyuwangi Festival. They become an item of interest for the trade sector. Antaranews reported as quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).
“We programmed diplomats visit to Banyuwangi to promote it through economic diplomacy. May it could boost local products. “said Nana.
There are 29 diplomats who joined the program. Six of them have previously served in various countries, such as Switzerland, Egypt, the United States and the Netherlands.
Banyuwangi regent Abdullah Azwar Anas said he pleased with the visit program. Moreover, Ministry of Foreign Affairs will promote Banyuwangi tourism and economic development to many countries.
Nana said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently prioritizing economic diplomacy in building relationships with international community. Ministry of Foreign Affairs on this diplomacy focuses on three sectors ; tourism, trade and investment. (L/R03/R04)
