Indian Army Kill Three Militants in Kashmir
New Delhi, 19 Dzulqa’dah 1437/22 August 2016 (MINA) – The Indian Army announced on Sunday that three militants were killed in a security operation to foil an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Tangdhar sector of north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Quoting an Army official, the Press Trust of India (PTI) said that the Army launched a security operation and “foiled an infiltration bid in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district. Three terrorists have been killed in the operation.”
The Indian army official further claimed that the three killed militants were involved in an attack on a post of Border Security Forces in the region two days back injuring three soldiers.
The official stated that a combing operation is still going on adding that “the security forces recovered three weapons from the scene of the gun-battle.”
In a related development, the curfew imposed in various places of the state by the Indian security forces continued for the 44th consecutive day making the normal life of the people crippled.
The death toll in the ongoing security action against popular protests in wake of the killing of separatist leader Burhan Wani on July 8 reached 66 civilians while thousands of others were injured.
