HAMAS OFFICIAL CAR TORCHED IN GAZA: RIGHTS GROUP
Gaza, 27 Rabi’ul Akhir 1436/17 February 2015 (MINA) – Unknown arsonists have torched the car belonging to a senior official of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip, a human rights group says.
According to an employee of the human rights group, who spoke on condition of anonymity, the unidentified attackers set the car ablaze in Jabaliya, located in northern part of the blockaded area, on Sunday, Press Tv quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
The employees also said that the car belonged to Ramadan al-Naooq, a senior official in the interior ministry of the resistance movement.The attackers reportedly fled the scene of the incident.
In a similar attack in January, unknown attackers bombed a car belonging to Helmi Khalaf, a security official of Hamas, in the besieged enclave.
“A home-made bomb damaged a car belonging to a military police officer which was parked in front of his house in Gaza City, without causing casualties,” Iyad al-Buzum, a spokesman for the Palestinian interior ministry, said in a statement.
Meanwhile Palestinian sources say a car belonging to a member of the Fatah movement has been sent ablaze in the center of the Gaza Strip. (T/P011/P3)
