Ambassador Wahid Invites Halal Entrepreneurs to Join 2019 Kazan Summit

Jakarta, MINA – Indonesian Ambassador of to Russia and Republic of Belarus, M. Wahid Supriadi invited domestic leading halal product companies to take part in The 11th International Economic Summit “2019 Kazan Summit” in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan in April 24-26 2019.

“The Indonesian Embassy in Moscow will facilitate entrepreneurs of halal products and Indonesian Muslim clothing at the event held in Kazan, the majority of the population is Muslim. Meanwhile, every year (exhibition of halal products) is held, but we never join, “Ambassador Wahid said in a meeting with reporters during a series of working visits in Jakarta on Friday.

He expressed the need to synergize market penetration in Russia and the Indonesian Embassy in Moscow is ready to become an active part to increase national exports, including the entry of superior Indonesian halal products.

“This synergy is part of Indonesia’s economic diplomacy to further promote trade and increase our exports,” Ambassador Wahid added.

Several companies are ready to participate in the exhibition, including pioneering companies halal cosmetic products Wardah, Mayora, Garuda Food, and PT Kapal Api through EuroTrade as distributors in Russia.

“I met Wardah and was very positive. Don’t forget (Russia) there are around 25 million Muslim residents. “The longstanding relationship between Islam and Russia has also become a great opportunity to develop halal products there,” Ambassador Wahid said.

The International Economic Summit ‘Russia-Islamic World: Kazan Summit is an event for leading international economic development held by the Russian Federation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

This summit is held every year since 2009. At the 2018 Kazan Summit, there were around 3,000 participants from 53 countries.

The Russian-Indonesian business forum will be launched for the first time at the 2019 Kazan Summit which will be held at the international exhibition center “Kazan Expo”.

The agreement was reached during the visit of Ambassador Wahid in Kazan last October 1, 2018. The Indonesian and Russian Business Delegates will discuss new cooperation and joint projects.
