Al-Quds University and Marmara University of Turkey Establish Cooperation

Istanbul, MINA – Palestinian Al-Quds University (AQU) Chancellor, Imad Abu Kishek, and Turkish Marmara University Chancellor, Erol Ozvar, signed a cooperation agreement in scientific research and other fields for mutual benefit, according to a press release by AQU.

The signing ceremony took place at Marmara University in Istanbul and was attended by officials from both institutions. WAFA reported on Monday, September 30.

Under the agreement, the two universities will launch a scientific journal focusing on Jerusalem problem and hold a joint annual academic conference.

Abu Kishek and Ozvar also discussed cooperation in the medical field, including the possibility of offering clinical training to AQU medical students at Marmara University.

The agreement also provides collaboration through the AQU’s Center for Jerusalem Studies to exchange visits and experiences and undertake joint projects that will help maintain Jerusalem’s Arab identity and preserve its cultural and historical heritage.

Abu Kishek highly praised the deep connection between AQU and Marmara, a prestigious Turkish university with extraordinary success especially in the fields of medicine, law and fine arts.

He pointed out that AQU worked actively to preserve Jerusalem’s intellectual, cultural and historical heritage.

Over the past five years, AQU has developed strong partnership and collaboration schemes with Turkish universities, which contribute to achievements in science and at the level of social responsibility and internationalization.
