Jordan Royal Court Chief Meets Alwi Shihab, President Jokowi’s Special Envoy

pecial Amman, 10 Jumadal Awwal 1437/ 19 February 2016 (MINA) – Deputizing for His Majesty King Abdullah II, Royal Court Chief Fayez Tarawneh on Thursday received Alwi Abdul Rahman Shihab, the Special Envoy of the Indonesian President, who conveyed a letter to His Majesty King Abdullah II from Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

The letter included an invitation to the King to attend the extraordinary Summit of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Palestine and Jerusalem in the Indonesian capital Jakarta during March 6-7, Mi’eaj Islamic News Agency (MINA) reported, quoting Petra.

Tarawneh highlighted the strong ties between Jordan and Indonesia as well as Jordan’s keenness, under the leadership of His Majesty, to further enhance them in the interest of both peoples.

During the meeting, the Royal Court chief also spoke about the challenges facing the Middle East as well as Jordan’s support to efforts that aim at addressing these challenges to enhance peace and security in the region and the world.

The Indonesian official voiced his country’s keenness to boost cooperation, coordination and consultations with Jordan on various issues to boost Islamic solidarity. (R07/R01)
