ISRAELI FORCES SHOOT, INJURE PALESTINIAN IN BEIT UMMAR CLASHES
Hebron, 24 Muharram 1437/6 November 2015 (MINA) – Israeli forces shot and injured a young Palestinian man with a live round during clashes in the southern West Bank town of Beit Ummar on Tuesday morning, locals said.
Locals told Ma’an that Ayman Ahmad Hmeidat had been shot in his shoulder and evacuated by the Palestinian Red Crescent service to a hospital in Hebron, Maan News Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
They said that local youths had been throwing stones at Israeli forces near Safa junction, and the soldiers responded with live and rubber-coated steel bullets, tear gas canisters, and stun grenades.
Even before unrest swept the occupied Palestinian territory at the beginning of last month, Beit Ummar was the site of regular clashes between Palestinians and Israeli forces.
Israeli forces have detained dozens of the town’s residents since the beginning of the year, in night raids that have often turned violent. (T/P010/R04)
