INDONESIA WEST NUSA TENGGARA RECORDS AS HIGHEST ECONOMIC GROWTH
Mataram, 25 Shawwal 1436/10 August 2015 (MINA) – The Central Bureau of Statistics West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province released the report the economic rate growth in the second quarter of 2015 of the region remains the highest by 16.51 year-on-year (yoy), if compared to 33 other provinces in Indonesia.
“NTB recorded as the highest of economic rate growth viewed in yoy, beating Central Sulawesi and Papua by 15.72 percent and 12.77 percent,” said the head of the Central Statistics Agency NTB Wahyudin, in Mataram on Monday. Antara reported 6+5as quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).
Although it remains the highest, said Wahyudin, economic growth NTB contributed only 0.14 percent to the growth of the national economy.
“The province which contributed as the highest for national economy growth is East Java as the industrial areas province in Indonesia,” he said.
Wahyudin said, NTB economic structure in the second quarter / 2015 (yoy) was dominated by three major business categories. Those are agriculture, forestry and fisheries factors which amounted to 23.09 percent, mining and quarrying, 19.07 percen, wholesale and retail trade, cars and motorcycles repairing, 12.59 percent.
NTB economic growth in the second quarter / 2015 (yoy) compared to the same period of the previous year due to significant growth in mining and quarrying category, amounting to 75.47 per cent (yoy). Then followed the financial services sector 9.37 percent and agriculture, forestry and fisheries amounted to 9.23 percent.
The high growth in mining and quarrying category driven by an increase in production of metals ore mining of PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (NNT).
However, since September 2014, the government gave concessions to the implementation of the Mining Law being allowed back in the form of exports of minerals in the terms special provisions, making PT NNT again increased the productions. (T /P008/ R03)
