JOKOWI: AACC SHOULD STRENGTHEN ASIAN-AFRICAN ECONOMIC RELATIONSHIP

Jakarta, 2 Rajab 1436/21 April 2015 (MINA) – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that Asian-African countries need cooperation and mutual infestation to oncrease prosperity for both parties.

Futhermore, the former governor of Jakarta asserted that Asian-African countries have the high potential of natural and human resources. “If it can be managed well, we will achieve prosperity,” said Jokowi in the opening session of bussiness summit of Asian African conference cooperation, Jakarta, Tuesday.

Indonesia economic growth in 2013 just 4.9 percent. While Indonesian inflation still above on the world inflation average, at 4.6 percent. It means we need to improve our prosperity.

We must make a commitment to create appropriate policies to accelerate the cooperation program so the people can immediately feel the benefits.

Economic and trade cooperation should be encouraged among us, because the increase of welfare will be able to be realized soon.

Today, Asian-African Conference Commemoration (AACC) meeting is runing Business Summit (AABS) agenda. During Sunday’s meeting, all delegations agreed on three documents, namely the Bandung Message, New Asian-African Strategic Partnership (NAASP) and the Palestine Declaration.

The conference will be run from April 19 – 23 in Jakarta and on April 24 in Bandung. The Asian African Business Summit is scheduled to take place on April 21-22.(L/P008/R03)
