KING SALMAN CALLS FOR REPELLING RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM, INTOLERANCE
Riyadh, 9 Jumadil Awwal 1436/28 February 2015 (MINA)– Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz received on Thursday participants of the World Conference ‘Islam and Counter-Terrorism,” which concluded in Makkah on Wednesday, and called for repelling “intolerance and extremism that offends Islam,” the Saudi Press Agency reported.
“I welcome you in your country, the country of Muslims. The Kingdom Saudi Arabia considers its major responsibility is to maintain the house of Allah and the city of the Messenger of Allah, and to maintain the security of pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors, and this is what is happening now,” King Salman told his guests at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, Al arabiya quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
“We ask Allah Almighty to guide us all for the service of our tolerant religion away from intolerance and extremism that offends Islam, which is the religion of moderation, as you know.”
King Salman added: “There are people who repel people away from Islam and those abuse Islam. We beseech Allah Almighty to guide them to their senses. In fact, a conference such as this conference of yours will benefit Muslims, Allah willing. Your country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the country of Islam, is your country all the time. Thank Allah, it is with moderate Islam.” (T/P010/P3)
