INDONESIA PRAISES PEOPLE-GOVERNMENT UNITY IN PALESTINE

Jakarta, 29 Muharam 1436/22 November 2014 (MINA) – Palestine is experiencing the occupation, this issue has strengthened the unity of the people and its government in the fight against the occupation, said Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister Abdurrahman Mohammad Fachir.

“Palestine is the only issue that unites government and its people to work together in addressing the occupation,” Fachir said during the visit of the Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) in his office in Jakarta, Friday.

Palestine is the only region that is still  under the occupation, he added, Palestine is now starting to gain international supports towards its own independence, despite it has not received recognition from the UN to date.

“Look, Sweden, Britain, France and other countries have started to support the Palestinians, it’s new positive sign,” he said.

The latest strikes and battle to expand the Israeli occupation on the Palestinian land has strengthened internal cooperation in dealing it. For example, one of its resistance movement Al-Qassam brigade recently formed “people forces” in cooperation with civils, so that they can increase self defence in dealing  the next Israeli strikes.

On that occasion, Fachir also expressed Indonesia support which consistently against the occupation in accordance with the country’s constitution.

“Our biggest support for the Palestinian issues, the sustainable capacity building regularly held in Indonesia,” he said, Indonesia will continue to hold its Constitution in the fight against colonialism. (L/R04/R03)
