ISRAEL VIOLATES CEASEFIRE AGAIN BY CAPTURING FOUR FISHERMEN

Gaza, 15 Dzulqadah 1435/10 September 2014 (MINA) – Israel violated ceasefire again by capturing four fishermen who were fishing in coast of Sudania, Bayt Lahiya, north of Gaza on Tuesday morning (9 september) Gaza time.

Israeli Navy brought the four fishermen to unknown place, Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) correspondent reported from Gaza, Palestine.

Nizar Ayyash, head of Palestinian fishermen said, the four fishermen were from one family, namely, Baha Yusuf Sultan (24 years), Essam Sultan (21 years), Tharik Eid Sultan (19 years), and Saddam Sultan (21 years).

He added that the four fishermen had been fishing in distance of five nautical miles from beach since two days ago. Israeli occupation regime violated the ceasefire agreement. Six nautical miles is a distant agreed in the ceasefire agreement.

It was the second arrest of fishermen by the Israeli occupation regime. Israel also captured two fishermen at sea of Bayt Lahiya, north of Gaza Strip a week ago. Israeli occupation regime arrested six fishermen since the ceasefire agreement.

Israeli occupation authorities did not only forbide fishermen to sea, they also fired at fishermen who were fishing at distance of six miles from the coast.

Palestinians and Israel mediated by Egypt in the indirect talks had agreed that fishermen allowed to catch fish within six nautical miles from the coast. It will be expanded to 12 miles by the end of this year. Israel has repeatedly violated the agreement in latest two week since signing of the agreement.

Khalid Al Batsh, one of the Palestinian delegation to indirect talks in Cairo told to Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) correspondent that Palestinian authority will report these violations to Egypt. The Egypt is the initiator of the agreement in Cairo. (L/K01/P009/P3)
