West Bank, 6 Dhulqo’dah 1435/1 September 2014 (MINA) – Israeli forces raided the al-Fara refugee camp in Nablus overnight and detained seven Palestinians, locals said.

At least 15 military jeeps and armored personnel carriers raided the camp from several directions and broke into dozens of houses, Witnesses told Ma’an as quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

The home of a senior official from the Palestinian People’s Party, Muhammad Mansour, was raided and Israeli forces questioned him in the street and confiscated several flags from his house.

Ali Wakid, 45, his sons Imad, 26, and Ahmad, 22, Farouq Abu al-Hasan, 42, Muhmmad Salah Sawalma, 20, Asim Mansour Subih, 47, and Ismail Abu Atieh, 48, were detained during the raids.

Israeli military forces routinely raid the occupied West Bank and arrest local Palestinians, often on the pretext of security questioning.

While previously, A Palestinian teenager was critically wounded late Sunday after an Israeli soldier shot him in the head with a rubber-coated steel bullet, relatives said.

Muhammad Abd Al-Majid Sunuqrut, 16, from Wadi al-Joz suffered a fractured skull after being shot, his father said.

The teenager was speaking on his mobile phone while walking to a nearby mosque for late evening prayers when he was hit, in what his father said was an unprovoked attack.

He underwent emergency surgery at Hadassah Medical Center to stop bleeding on his brain and to remove bone fragments caused by the impact of the bullet.

The teen is currently unconscious in an intensive care unit and is said to be in a critical condition.

Muhammad had been preparing for the new school year, his father said, adding that Israeli forces have been provoking local Wadi al-Joz residents in recent weeks by firing tear gas, rubber coated-bullets and skunk spray.(T/R04/P3)
