Karachi, MINA – Pakistan’s Hindu Council (PHC) rejects the Statutory Amendment Act in India which triggered bloody clashes in New Delhi.

“The Amendment Law which aims to accelerate citizenship, rules out Muslim citizens,” PHC Chief Dr Ramesh Kumar said at the PHC meeting on Saturday, February 29. The Express Tribune reports on Sunday.

PHC urged the Indian Supreme Court to revoke the bill, given the violence it triggered.

The Indian constitution needs to be restored to its original form or the country will move towards another episode of division, said Kumar, who is also a member of the National Assembly of the Hindu minority.

He also appealed to Hindus, who had migrated to India from Sindh, to understand the agenda behind the “Modi government aggressive attitude”.

Participants at the meeting also appreciated Indian Hindus, who for the sake of humanity, protected Muslims from “extremist rioters,” and expressed satisfaction at the steps taken by Prime Minister Imran Khan to ensure the safety and protection of the Hindu community in Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by PHC President Gopal Khamani, PHC Secretary General Parshotam Ramani, PHC Joint Secretary Pamman Lal Rathi, PHC Finance Secretary Bharat Kumar Manglani, PHC Advisor Raja Asarmal Manglani, and others. (T/RE1)
