Israel Says Will Talk with Palestinians If Hamas Recognizes Israel
Ramallah, MINA – Israel’s mini-cabinet said Tuesday Israel would not talk to a Palestinian government that included members from Hamas, unless the movement recognize Israel and disarm itself.
Israel will talk to the Palestinian government which includes Hamas if the latter recognizes Israel, rejects “terrorism” and disarm in line with conditions of the international diplomatic Quartet, KUNA reported, citing the mini-cabinet in a statement following its meeting.
Hamas should also release the Israelis it holds in Gaza Strip and the Palestinian authority takes full security control over the strip, it said.
Palestinian Hamas and Fatah reached an agreement in Cairo last week, ending division and allowing the Palestinian of national accord to work in Gaza. (T/RS5/RS1)
