Malaysia Ponder Using Military to Help Rohingya

Kuala Lumpur, MINA – General Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor, Commander of the Malaysian Armed Forces, was quoted by KUNA as saying on Friday he was discussing with chiefs of other countries’ armies plans to help the Rohingya Muslims.
Speaking at a news conference, Gen. Mohamed Noor indicated he was examining various plans to relieve the stricken Muslims in Myanmar, indicating that he aspired to cooperate with armies of regional countries to rescue the Ronhingya.
The Malaysian Premiership had announced that it would dispatch a humanitarian expedition to the Myanmar-Bangladesh regions to aid the fleeing Rohingya.
The mission will depart on Saturday, according to the premiership, also indicating that a field military hospital would be erected in the regions where the Rohingya have been gathering. (T/RS5/RS1)
