2018th Asian Games: Indonesia Stands on Fourth Place

Jakarta, MINA – In the ninth day of the 2018 Asia Games in Jakarta-Palembang, Indonesia stood to the fourth place in the gold medal tally, rising up one level from the previous fifth rank.

According to the MINA News Agency, Indonesia’s position was on the fifth place below  China, Japan, South Korea and Iran.

On Monday morning Indonesia reached on the number four for additional some medals. Unfortunately at 1:00 p.m. It had returned to the fifth place under Iran.

However in the afternoon, Indonesia’s position changed to the fourth spot after gaining 5 gold from Pencak silat, and 1 silver, 2 bronze from other sports.

Now, Indonesia bagged61 medals consist of 20 gold, 14 silver and 27 bronze.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla when visiting at Jakabaring Sport City, Palembang, on Sunday said that he is very optimistic that Indonesia could reach the target of medals at the 2018 Asian Games.

“We still have time, we can meet it. There are still Jetski, Silat, Karate and Badminton competitions that  have not yet enter final stage,” he said. (LT/Sj/P2/RS5)
