US Condemns “Horrific” Attacks on Hospitals in Aleppo

Washington, 20 Safar 1438/20 November 2016 (MINA) – The US on Saturday strongly condemned “horrific” attacks launched by the Syrian regime backed by Russia on hospitals and humanitarian aid bodies in Aleppo.

The remarks came after reports from global aid organizations that all remaining hospitals in Eastern Aleppo have been destroyed amid these attacks, Kuwait news agency Kuna quoted a White House official as saying in a statement.

“There is no excuse for these heinous actions,” National Security Advisor Susan Rice said, as she expressed US support for Syrian Civil Defense workers.

“The Syrian regime and its allies, Russia in particular, bears responsibly for the immediate and long term consequences these actions have caused in Syria and beyond,” she added

President Barack Obama, who is in Peru to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit, will call on member nation Russia to “immediately” reduce violence and allow humanitarian aid access for the Syrian people. (T/R07/R01)
