UNVEILING KEY TOPICS AND SPEAKERS IN WORLD HALAL SUMMIT 2015

Kuala Lumpur, 2 Jumadil Akhir 1436/22 March 2015 (MINA) – The World Halal Summit (WHS) – comprising of the 12th Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS), and six focused forums – is scheduled to be held from 30th March to 4th April 2015 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia.

Themed “Energising the Halal Ecosystem”, WHS 2015 is organised to encourage trading, networking and knowledge sharing amongst industry players and stakeholders, academics, and Islamic scholars, with the ultimate aim to unite the global Halal marketplace.

The six forums will collectively discuss, deliberate and chart the direction for the next phase of growth within the global Halal ecosystem, and create new and innovative technologies for the industry, Halal Focus quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

The 6th JAKIM International Halal Certification Bodies Convention will converse on Halal ingredients, food biotechnology, Halal analysis, monitoring and enforcement of Halal certification systems, Halal integrity, the roles, challenges and future outlook of international Halal certification bodies, and certificate management systems with digital technology such as JAKIM’s Halal Verified Engine programme.

The speakers at the convention include representatives from: Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI), KFC Holdings, DagangHalal Berhad, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad, Chemical Company of Malaysia Berhad (CCM), JAKIM’s Halal Hub Division and TPM Biotech Sdn Bhd.

The 8th World Halal Conference will reflect upon the need for a renewed global effort amongst Halal stakeholders to further strengthen the integration of industries within the Halal ecosystem towards the realisation of a holistic Halal economy. The Conference will assess issues that hinder the convergence of Islamic finance and Halal, and explore potential opportunities and areas to support sustainable growth within the Halal ecosystem.

The speakers and panellists at this Conference are from: Central Bank of Malaysia; ASEAN-BAC Malaysia; Ernst & Young’s Global Islamic Banking Centre, Bahrain; Deloitte, Bahrain; Stratgurus Consulting, Dubai; Synertec Asia, Malaysia; Islamic Development Bank Group, Saudi Arabia; Noor Pharmaceutical, USA; and AJ Biologics, Malaysia.

The four remaining forums – Certifiers Forum, Academics Forum, Scholars Forum and Business Forum – will address issues of genuine concern to industry stakeholders, to learn from new research and market data, to share expertise and experience, and to bring together some of the brightest and most creative minds in the industry. Participants will be able to engage in dialogues with scholars, discussions on finding common ground for global Halal standards, focus on training and education programmes for the Halal sector, and hear speakers discuss the business aspect of the global Islamic economy.

Over 70 confirmed key speakers and panellists for the four forums include H.E.
