THREE SYRIAN JOURNALISTS KILLED IN DARAA

Damascus, 18 Safar 1436/11 December 2014 (MINA) – Three Syrian journalists were reported dead in the southern province of Daraa when a missile hit their car.

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), the three journalists were reporters of the opposition-linked Orient TV.

The three journalists were reportedly killed in the town of Sheikh Miskin in Daraa province, northwestern Syria, ARA News quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Sheikh Miskin has seen continuous battles between pro-Assad forces and factions of the armed opposition for months.

Orient TV reported that its respondents Rami Asmi, Yousef El-Dous and Salem Khalil were targeted by the pro-regime military forces on Monday.

The death toll among journalists and media workers in Syria has risen to 257 since the start of the three-year-and-half war in the country, the Syrian Journalists Association (SJA) reported on Sunday. (T/P001/P3)
