Report: Israel Prosecutes 700 Palestinian Minors Annually

Al-Quds, 24 Syawwal 1437/29 July 2016  (MINA)  – A report issued by Human Rights Watch Organization revealed that Israel prosecutes 500-700 Palestinian minors before military courts every year for various charges mainly stone throwing.

The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted the organization  as reporting that about  220 Palestinian children were detained every month in 2015

The organization called for halting the detention of Palestinian children without indictments and prosecuting officials for maltreating, torturing, and even killing them during arrest.

In a report issued on Thursday, the organization pointed to the increase of arrests among children in six regions of disputes: Syria, Iraq, Israel and Occupied Palestinian Territories, Afghanistan, Nigeria and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. (T/P008/R07)
