Jerusalem, MINA – US President Donald Trump, accompanied by regional leaders, has inaugurated a historic Gaza ceasefire agreement at a summit in Sharm el-Sheik, Egypt.
As reported by Press TV on Tuesday, Trump’s subsequent speech at the Israeli Knesset celebrating the agreement on Monday sparked widespread criticism from journalists, commentators, and netizens, who condemned it as a horrifying endorsement of the genocide in Gaza.
Trump praised the Israeli regime and its Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and also boasted about America’s supply of lethal weapons to the regime.
Ofer Cassif and Ayman Odeh, members of the Israeli joint party Hadash-Taal, interrupted Trump’s speech in the Knesset with a banner demanding recognition of a Palestinian state. Both were subsequently removed from the parliament.

Trump’s speech in the Knesset ignited a storm of criticism from internet users, accusing him of glorifying violence and disregarding Palestinian suffering.
Jeremy Scahill (@jeremyscahill), a journalist at DropSiteNews, wrote: “The scene in the Knesset with Trump is like watching the inverse of a war crimes tribunal. The leaders and facilitators of the Gaza genocide are congratulating each other and celebrating their crimes.”
Abubaker Abed (@AbubakerAbedW), a Palestinian journalist from Deir al-Balah, said: “Trump and the Knesset members cheering and saluting Netanyahu can tell you everything you need to know about the world we live in. A summit that will feature world leaders known as the accomplices of the Holocaust in Gaza as peacemakers. Insane!”
Bushra Shaikh (@Bushra1Shaikh), a social and political commentator, described the event: “A horrifying celebration in the Israeli Knesset pantomime. Led by the funder of the genocide—Donald Trump. A hideous cult masquerading as Western civilization.”[]
