Al-Quds, 6 Dzulhijjah 1436/20 September 2015 (MINA) – The Israeli administration of Nafha jail has dealt with the growing tension with the Palestinian prisoners in its sections by taking a number of punitive measures against them, according to the Palestinian Prisoner Society.
A report released by the Society stated that special prison forces stormed last Thursday section 10 in Nafha jail and started to fire tear gas before engaging in a hand-to-hand fight with the prisoners, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting, Saturday (19/9).
The jailers also cut water and power to the section and prevented all families from visiting their relatives during that day.
Later, the prison administration announced its decision to punish the prisoners by depriving them of family visits for two months, reducing the time they are allowed to spend outside cells and withdrawing all electric devices for a whole week.
Some prisoners were also punished by locking them up in solitary confinement as a prelude to transferring them to other isolation cells in Ella and Ramon jails.(T/P008/R03)
