MER-C SIGNS CONTRACT WITH MEDICAL EQUIPMENT SUPPLIERS FOR INDONESIAN HOSPITAL
Gaza, 1 Shafar 1436/24 November 2014 (MINA) – Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) signed a contract with the medical equipment Suppliers for Indonesian Hospital in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, Sunday November 23.
Edy Wahyudi, construction project manager of Indonesian hospital signed the contract in Indonesian Hospital located in Bayt Lahiya, north of Gaza.
“We are expecting the medical equipment will arrive in 6-7 weeks,” Wahyudi told Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) correspondent in Gaza.
The medical equipment included beds for patients, surgical instruments package, central sterile, hospital furniture, medical electronic and patient monitors.
(The central sterile services department (CSSD), also called sterile processing department (SPD), sterile processing, central supply department (CSD), or central supply, is an integrated place in hospitals and other health care facilities that performs sterilization and other actions on medical devices, equipment and consumables; for subsequent use by health workers in the operating theatre of the hospital and also for other aseptic procedures, e.g. catheterization, wound stitching and bandaging in a medical, surgical, maternity or paediatric ward.)
Shadi Abdul Qadir, one of the suppliers said they would try as much as possible to send them according to the schedule agreed upon by both parties.
“We would like to thank the people of Indonesia of their help,” said Shadi.
Supplying medical equipment of the Indonesian hospital has been planned since last July, but there was the 51 days war in Gaza which caused the closing of border crossings.
The war caused the delaying of Indonesian Hospital construction.
Meanwhile, 19 volunteers from Indonesia are currently completing construction of guest house of Indonesian hospital. The House will be used by medical staffs of Indonesian hospital .
The Indonesian hospital authority Plan to inaugurate the hospital on February, 2015. They will hand over the hospital to the people of Gaza in order to be immediately operated. (L/P009/P3)
