MAROCCAN WOMAN AWARDED “KNOWLEDGE PRIZE” IN NORWAY

Oslo, 2 Ramadan 1436/19 June 2015  (MINA) – Moroccan researcher Ilham Skah received the “Knowledge Award,” in recognition of her excellent research on Muslim women, at a ceremony held in the Norwegian capital Oslo, according to Moroccan news agency.

Skah has been awarded the “Knowledge Award” by the municipality of Oslo and a group of academic institutions for her Master research on Muslim women in Norwegian universities. IINA reports as quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

The award was presented to Skah in a ceremony during which participants emphasized the importance of the research on Muslim women in Norway and the challenges they face.

In an interview with MAP news agency, Skah said her research used a sample that comprised of women who are pursuing their studies in universities across Norway.

She added that her work focused as well on the aspirations of Muslim women in the Scandinavian country with respect to their cultural and moral values.

Skah earned a Master’s degree in Gender studies from the University of Oslo and another Master’s degree in multicultural and international education from Oslo Akershus University College.

In Morocco, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in English language and cultural studies (2005-2010) from the University of Sidi Muhammad Ben Abdallah-Fez. (T/P007/NMT)
