King of Morocco Calls for Regional Solidarity
Rabat, MINA – Moroccan King, Mohammed VI called for regional collective solidarity action, in his remarks at the annual Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) meeting in Marrakech, Friday, April 5.
Mohammed VI explained that IsDB member countries face many challenges and must collaborate to overcome them. Morocco News reported.
“The aim is to serve our nation and contribute to economic development and mutual social progress,” he said.
According to Muhammed, the progress and development of a nation cannot be imagined without the progress of countries in one region.
Every year, the IsDB annual meeting gathers politicians, development specialists, and bank staff to discuss the latest development issues.
This year’s theme “Transformation in an ever-changing world” is a reference to the IsDB for new development strategies that intersect with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
IsDB is based in Saudi Arabia and has 57 member countries, working with Muslim communities throughout the world.
On April 3, they would create a Global Muslim Philanthropy Fund for Children in collaboration with UNICEF. (T/Sj/P2)
