Italian Embassy Holds Technology Exhibition at National Museum Jakarta

Jakarta, MINA – The Italian Embassy for Indonesia holds a science and technology exhibition themed Italy: The Beauty of Knowledge at the Museum Nasional, Jakarta from March 6 to 31, 2019.

So far, Italy have been well known for its cultural excellence, distinctive food and fashion, but this exhibition will showcase scientific excellence in the form of advanced technology in the fields of health, environment, space, food and nutrition, and cultural heritage.

“We are proud to present the contribution of research and innovation to new discoveries from Italy to improve the welfare of local and global communities,” said Italian Ambassador to Indonesia, Vittoria Sandalli during a press conference at the National Museum, Jakarta, Tuesday.

He continued this exhibition is one of a series of collaborations between the two parties in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and the Republic of Indonesia which will be open to the public Monday-Friday from 08: 00 a.m to 05:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, European Director I of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dino R. Kusnadi welcomed the exhibition and said this event had actually been initiated a year ago to find the right momentum.

Not only in Indonesia, in commemoration of the 70 bilateral relations, the Indonesian Embassy in Rome will also hold an exhibition of Indonesia’s creative industries and present the calm of the Pancasila philosophy.

The Italy: The Beauty of Knowledge exhibits a pavilion concept, visitors will experience an interactive space that combines visual and physical components that not only show the greatness of Italian technology and science, but also showcase the beauty of the journey of knowledge and research carried out in Italy.

Some of the technologies displayed at the exhibition, such as, FreeHand is an electromechanical hand that is controlled through electromyographic signals that will be connected directly to the brain and the Human Body On-Chip Organs and live tissue is made internally Vitro is able to use alternatives to animal experiments treatment.

Ambassador Sandalli hoped that this exhibition can provide a variety of support to Indonesia and help visitors learn about a number of aspects of Italy that are not widely known. (L/Sj/P2)
