Israeli Settlers Attacks Against Palestinians Increases: UN Reports

Ramallah, MINA – The UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) released the latest report related to increasing attacks of illegal Jewish settlements against Palestine.

The report said two Palestinians were injured and property damaged by Israeli settlers in first two weeks of September. Thus Wafa reported on Sunday, September 22.

During this year, Israeli illegal settlers carried out 233 attacks, including 52 which resulted in injuries to Palestinians.

The UN report also said in three separate incidents settlers are believed from Yitzhar settlement stormed nearby villages, such as Madama, Einabus, and Asira Al-Qibliya in the northern West Bank.

“They also cut down about 100 olive trees, damaged houses, damaged vehicles, and clashed with residents. Israeli forces intervened during the clashes that erupted in the village of Madama,” OCHA explained in its report.

Meanwhile, so far this year, more than 4,870 olive trees have been destroyed by illegal Israeli settlers.

In addition to the Olive Tree, Israeli authorities also destroyed a total of 23 Palestinian buildings in Area C of the West Bank and Al-Quds (East Jerusalem) on the grounds of lack of permits.

“The total number of houses destroyed this year was 393. 244 of them were in Area C and 148 in Jerusalem and a total of 487 people were moved, 219 were in Jerusalem,” the report added.

The report also said that in East Jerusalem there were eight buildings near the dividing wall destroyed, including two buildings that were being built. (T/Sj/P2)
