Nablus, MINA – Hundreds of Muslim Palestinians observing the holy month of Ramadan were forced to break their fast at the Beit Furik military checkpoint, east of the occupied city of Nablus, according to local sources, Wafa News Agency reports.

They said that hundreds of Palestinians broke their fast at the checkpoint while waiting in long lines due to the tightening of restrictions on movement by the occupation forces.

The occupation forces have tightened military measures across the occupied West Bank since hours after the release of the first batch of Palestinian prisoners as part of the Gaza ceasefire came into effect, separating and isolating cities and provinces from each other using military gates, barriers and concrete blocks.

They have severely restricted the freedom of movement of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank through a complex combination of some 898 fixed and mobile checkpoints and gates, including 18 gates that have been installed since the beginning of 2025 and another 146 gates that were installed after October 7, 2023, settler-only roads, more than 200 military bases, and various other physical barriers.

These Israeli military measures are in line with the ongoing Israeli occupation throughout the West Bank to terrorize Palestinians and expel them from their land in order to seize it and establish illegal Jewish colonies that separate Palestinian communities. []
