Jerusalem, MINA – Israeli police on Monday questioned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over corruption allegations, according to Israel Radio.

The investigation revolves around suspicions that Netanyahu awarded favors to Israel’s telecom company Bezeq Telecom Israel in return for favorable coverage on the company’s news site.

According to Anadolu Agency, Investigators will question Netanyahu’s wife and son later in the same case.

This is the second time the prime minister was questioned by police over the case.

Last month, Israeli police recommended Netanyahu be indicted on corruption charges, saying there was now sufficient evidence to formally charge him in two other graft cases.

The cases appear to be gaining steam with a close Netanyahu confidant agreeing to cooperate with the inquiry and testify in the corruption cases, according to Israeli media.(R/R04/RS5)
