Israeli Embassy in Jordan’s Staff Return to Israel – Report

Israeli embassy staff in Jordan returned to Israel.

Gaza, MINA – The Israeli Embassy in Jordan’s staff have returned to Israel after a security guard killed two Jordanian citizens in the diplomatic mission’s compound last night, KUNA reported, citing media Monday.

Around 30 embassy employees returned to Israel fearing the Jordanian security forces might arrest the security guard, the Israel Today’s newspaper, which is close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, quoted Israeli diplomats as saying.

Israel’s TV Channel 10 said Netanyahu and Jordanian King Abdullah II discussed over the phones how to calm the situation down.

It said the two sides agreed on the principles to address the incident.

Netanyahu and King Abdullah also discussed the security measures implemented at Al-Aqsa Mosque. (T/RS5/RS1)
