Israel Military’s Attack Causes Two Palestinian Students Critically Injured

Bethlehem, MINA – Two middle school Palestinian students were seriously or critically injured by Israeli military live amunition attacked on Thursday,  in Tuqu Village, Southeast of Bethlehem District in the occupied West Bank.

According to local sources reported by Ma’an News Agency, Israeli forces invaded the village of Tuqu and surrounded a local high school, which resulted in clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinian students.

The sources said Israeli forces had fired live amunition and tear gas on students to disperse them. Three students were shot with live amunition, while dozens of others suffered from inhalation due to tear gas.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) confirmed the medical team evacuated three students who suffered wounds in their stomach, pelvis and legs to the nearest hospital.

The PRCS also confirmed, two of the three students were in critical condition.

Many Palestinian schools and universities have experienced many Israeli military attacks.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in the Occupied Palestinian Territories confirmed, since the beginning of 2018 there has been a significant increase in incidents involving the entry of Israeli troops and illegal settlers into Palestinian schools.

In the OCHA report on Civil Protection, the period 6 to 19 November 2018, said that in the West Bank, 63 Palestinian children and nine adults were injured by Israeli forces during four separate attacks on schools, one of which also involved illegal settlers. (T/Sj/P2)
