Israel Approves Construction of 182 Illegal Settlement Units in Jordan Valley

Al-Quds, MINA – Israeli Planning and Civil Affairs Committee on Thursday, October 10 approved the construction of 182 Israeli Illegal Settlement units in the Jordan Valley region.

Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot said the move was a realization of Israeli Government’s decision on 15 September to provide legality for Settler Mavoot Yareho.

Jordan Valley is a fertile area that has borders directly with the city of Al-Quds, but is under Israeli Zionist occupation.

Many Illegal Jewish Settlers live in the area. Meanhile, many native Palestinians were forcibly evicted by Zionist settlers and Israeli forces.

Recently, Israeli Government plans to integrate Jordan Valley and West Bank, but received opposition from the international community, including Europe.

The construction of Illegal Settlements is a major obstacle to negotiations between Palestinian and Israeli authorities. However, almost every day Israel expands its power in areas which according to the UN are under the control of Palestinian authority.

However, the violations committed by Israel did not make the UN impose sanctions on Israel which further made Israel dare to increase violations in the Palestinian territories. (T/Sj/P2)
