Jenin, 28 Rabi’ul Awwal 1436/19 January 2015 (MINA) – The Israeli Occupation Authority (IOA) on Monday gave an order, for the third time, to stop the construction works at the public park of Barta’a town, southwest of Jenin, as a prelude to demolishing it.
Local sources said that Israeli troops and civil servants from the Israeli planning and zoning authority handed the citizens responsible for the construction of the park a notice ordering them to halt its building, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
The two-dunum park belongs to Barta’a cooperative society and contains a play area for children.
The Israeli Occupation Authority over the past years handed Palestinian citizens in Barta’a dozens of demolition orders against homes and industrial facilities with the aim of expelling the natives from the town and annex it for settlement plans.
