INDONESIAN VOLUNTEER MARRIES GAZAN WOMAN AMID CEASEFIRE

Gaza, 22 Shawwal  1435/18 August 2014 (MINA) – An Indonesian humanitarian volunteer from Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) Muhammad Husain performed his wedding vows in a marriage ceremony, Sunday in Gaza Strip during ceasefire.

Muhammad Husain bin Aji Muslims is marrying  Jinan Ar-Raqb, a Gazan Muslimah from Khan Younis, southern Gaza. The planning of ceremony actually would be held a month ago, but it just realized today,” said Husain.

The wedding ceremony was held at the Office of Religious Affairs, Gaza City, attended by the bride’s father Fauzi Ar-Raqb, while the bridegroom was accompanied by other  MER-C volunteers, Muqarrabin Al-Fikri, Reza Ardila, Lutfhi, and Nur Ikhwan Abadi.

“Alhamdulillah, my dream comes true. This is a blessing from Allaah, I can marry a Muslimah from Gaza,” Hussein said.

The volunteer from Al Fatah Foundation, Bogor, West Java hoped that his marriage might be a real fraternity among Muslims in Indonesia and Gaza.

“I also would like to thank all those who have helped and supported me until my wedding happened,” he said happily.

Meanwhile, Jinan also expressed her gratitude to all people who supported her marriage. Although my wedding was postponed, but right now, it has already been finished, “she said.

The fifth child of a family of Ar-Raqb Fauzi also pray  that there will be many many more Indonesian men marry Palestinian women as a form of  brotherhood between the two countries.

Muhammad Hussain went to Gaza  since the beginning of 2011 through Asian Caravan to Gaza. Then he got a scholarship to study at the Islamic University of Gaza (IUG),  Islamic Shariah Department  and are now entering the fourth year.

While Jinan Ar-Raqb born on 11 May 1996 in Gaza. She completed the memorization of the 30 chapters of Al Qur’an  in tahfidzul Quran program Taaj al-Waqar in 2010. She also became the best student  to memorize 300 hadith in 2012. Jinan has wrote 20 novels in her 18 years old.  (L/K01/P03/P04/E01)
