ISLAMIC SCHOLAR: REVENGE IS NO VINDICATION FOR ACTS OF VIOLENCE

Jakarta, 6 Safar 1437/18 November 2015 (MINA) – In a response to the Paris terror attacks on November 13, the head of Creative Dawa Body (iHaqi), Erick Yusuf stated that the violence committed by France does not give the vindication of another violence.

Do not make revenge for violence committed by France against Muslims as a justification for Muslims to do the same, he told Miraj Islamic News Agency (MINA) via a short message service on Wednesday.

The Bandung-born Islamic cleric deplored violence in the shape of attacks towards civilians in Paris, saying it can never be justified.

“We all know we will reap what we plant. But still, violent attacks towards the civilians which happened a few days ago can not be justified,” added writer of book “99 Celoteh Kang Erick Yusuf”.

Earlier, Yusuf expressed is concerns, that the shooting and suicide bombing tragedy in the French capital would create slander towards moslems.

“We have to be optimistic and hope that this would not become a slander,” he said to a national media in Jakarta. (L/P001/R07)
