Indonesian Halal Product Encouraged to Develop Markets in Middle East
Dubai, MINA – Bank Indonesia together with Indonesian Halal Lifestyle Center (IHLC) encourages halal product businesses in the country to develop markets in the Middle East.
Through Indonesia Halal Economy Investment Forum 2019 forum it is hoped that overseas business people can get adequate information about halal products from Indonesia.
Head of the Sharia Economics Department of Bank Indonesia Suhaedi said many overseas business operators were still unfamiliar with halal products from Indonesia.
“We want to facilitate market access to the Middle East for sharia business activities in the country,” he said during a Republika interview in Dubai, Qatar as quoted MINA on Tuesday, September 17.
Bank Indonesia invites several fostered businesses in this event. There are also a number of participating national banking businesses and other individual entrepreneurs.
Suhaedi wants the business actors to be able to interact with prospective buyers or investors in the Middle East. “Starting from Dubai as a target market for our halal products,” he said.
Through this event, Suhaedi hopes that Indonesian business people can also provide information about the prospects for sharia investment being pushed by the government. Islamic investment is not only for the halal industrial area but also for individuals.
“People abroad need more information,” he stressed.
Indonesia Halal Economy Investment Forum 2019 could be the first step in establishing business matching, business contracts or other business deals.
He hopes this event will continue at a bigger event, the 2019 Shari’a Economic Festival (ISEF) which will be held in Jakarta in November. (T/Sj/P2)
