Dhaka, MINA — Halal cosmetic products from Indonesia are in high demand among women in Bangladesh, Antara News reported, citing Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh Rina P. Soemarno stated.
“Indonesian cosmetic products have an advantage in Bangladesh, as they are halal (permissible by Islamic law), so penetrating the market here is easy, as Bangladesh has a large Muslim population,” Ambassador Rina stated here on Tuesday.
She noted that the market for cosmetic products, especially halal cosmetics, in Bangladesh is quite large.

“Women in Bangladesh prefer to use cosmetics, but only few cosmetic products are sold here, especially the halal ones,” the ambassador stated.
Hence, she encouraged halal cosmetics producers from Indonesia, such as PT Paragon Technology and Innovation (Wardah Cosmetics), to penetrate the Bangladeshi market.
According to Rina, women in Bangladesh prefer cosmetic products from Indonesia, especially Wardah, one of the popular cosmetic brands in Indonesia that promotes halal values at affordable prices.
“Wardah is the first halal cosmetic brand. So far, four to five Wardah outlets have been opened in Bangladesh,” she remarked.
