Fahrudin Alwi

Jakarta, MINA – The Friendship Forum of Indonesian Campus Da’wah Institution (FSLDK) has invited all Indonesians to criticize and condemn Israel’s Zionist occupiers for closing the Al-Aqsa Mosque and forbidding worshipers to perform prayer inside the mosque.

Chairman of the FSLDK Indonesia National Communication Center Fahrudin Alwi said that the closure of the mosque which is the first mecca of Muslims clearly offends Muslims, violates the value of freedom to worship, and is a form of colonization of every human right to embrace a religion and worship freely.

“FSLDK Indonesia condemns all forms of colonialism and violence committed by Zionist Israel against Palestinians. This is contrary to the basic values that we hold in Indonesia according to the Preamble to the 1945 Constitution, “he said in Jakarta on Thursday (20/7).

He added that the Israeli occupation is also in contradictory to articles 1, 3 and 4 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (DUHAM) issued by the UN General Assembly on 10 December 1948 and article 1 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) issued by The UN General Assembly session on December 16, 1966.

“The struggle to safe guard Al Aqsa Mosque is not only the obligation of the Palestinian people. But we, too, all Muslims throughout the world. Al Aqsa is the place  where the Messenger of Allah (SAW) commenced ‘isra’ or the journey from Mecca to the Aqsa Mosque on the night as well as a blessed land as Allah says in the QS. Al Isra verse 1, ” Alwi said.

At the Asian-African Conference (KAA) Conference in Jakarta and Bandung, 19-24 April 2015 and at the OIC Summit held in Jakarta, 6-7 March 2016, Indonesia through President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) declared support for the  independence of  Palestine both materially and immaterial.
