Jakarta, 18 Dhulhijja 1435/12 October 2014 (MINA) – Indonesia will be looking for ways to get into Gaza through the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, said head of Middle East Politics and Security Directorate of Foreign Affairs Ministry, Denny Lesmana.

According to Denny, both Indonesian officials and NGOs are still facing difficulties to enter the blockaded enclave as the Rafah border crossing is under the authority of Egypt’s General Intelligence Service (GIS).

The government would seek the ways during the Gaza reconstruction conference that is starting today,  October 12 in Cairo.

“Therefore, in addition our focus on the conference, we are also trying to find mechanism in order to get into Gaza, as it’s our personal interest and people’s demands,” he told the Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), Thursday.

Indonesia delegation that departed for the pyramids land Friday morning, was led by Advisor for Political, Legal and Security of Foreign Ministry, Wiwiek Setyawati Firman.

In the donor conference, Indonesia will pledge a one million dollars financial aid for the reconstruction of Gaza, in addition to other countries.

This donation is a testament of Indonesian support to the continuous struggle for the independence of Palestine since a long time ago, Denny concluded. (L/R04/P3)
