Indonesia Strongly Condemns Netanyahu’s Statement to Annex West Bank
Jakarta, MINA – Indonesian Government strongly condemns Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu’s statement to annex West Bank if he wins again in next September 17’s election.
“Netanyahu’s statement clearly contradicts with international law and the UN resolution, and also threatens the continuity of peace process,” said the statement of Indonesian Foreign Ministry on Thursday, September 12.
The statement continued Indonesia again calling for completion of Palestinian issue based on two-state solution and parameter which is agreed by international.
It is important for Organization Islamic Cooperation (OIC) collectively to respond immediately to Netanyahu’s dangerous statement.
Netanyahu said his country will apply sovereignty over Jordan Valley and its other settlers in occupied West Bank if he wins the next week election.
About 70.000 Palestinian people and 9.500 of Jews settlers are living and Jordan Valley, a fertile area that quarter of the West Bank.
Israel claims the valley is import for its security and refuses idea to release its part in any settlement with Palestine.
This early month, Netanyahu renewed his promise to annex all blocks Jews settlers in the occupied West Bank.
About 650.000 Jews settlers are living in more than 100 thousands settlements which have been built since 1967 when Israel occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.
International Law sees West Bank and East Jerusalem as “occupied area” and assumes all constructions of Jews settlements are illegal. (T/Sj/P2)
