Kuala Lumpur, 15 Rabiul Akhir 1436/4 February 2015 (MINA) – The Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia protested to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia for the advertising of cleaning tools, RoboVac, which quoted words ” Fire Your Indonesian Maid Now “.

“The Government of Indonesia regrets on RobVac company that demeans Indonesia people,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

Furthermore, the Embassy ordered the Malaysian authorities to ban such advertising, including ads in the RobVac company’s website. They also demanded the Malaysian Government took step to prevent such racist advertising to be published in the future.

The embassy also delegated a lawyer to meet the chief of the company for legal step. In addition, they has reported the ads to the Regional Police of Selangor.

“After receiving information from Indonesia citizens, the Embassy assigned the staff to ensure the correctness of the information. The result, it was found an ads spreading in social media but the location has been removed and no longer visible, ” the Foreign Ministry added.

Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia, Herman Prayitno, regreted the emergence of advertising from a private company which is very disturbing Indonesian people. Moreover, it happened in the midst of preparation for the State visit of President Joko Widodo to Malaysia on 5-7 February 2015 which aims to strengthen bilateral relations.

Herman underlined the importance of brotherhood between the two nations, especially when the both countries will soon enter Asean Economic Community (AEC). (L/P009/R03)
