India Says Its Army Killed 7 Pakistani Soldiers, 5 Militants

New Delhi, MINA – Indian Army said on Monday that its forces killed seven Pakistani troopers and five militants in two separate operations in the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Press Trust of India (PTI) said quoting a senior Indian Army officer that the forces carried out a retaliatory action against Pakistani forces along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of the state which resulting in the killing of seven Pakistani soldiers and injured four others.

“Army has carried out retaliation against Pakistani troops across Jaglote area along the LoC in Mendhar sector of Poonch district.

In the retaliatory action, there were seven fatal causalities to Pakistani troops and four others injured,” the agency quoted the Army officer.

The action comes as a retaliatory measure against the killing of an Indian trooper by Pakistani forces along the Line of Control in Rajouri district of the state on Saturday.

In another development, Indian defence spokesperson Rajesh Kalia said that five Jaish-e-Mohammed elements were killed in a joint operation carried out by Kashmir police, the army and paramilitary forces on Monday near Dulanja area of Uri town in Baramulla district.
