FOREIGN MINISTER: SAUDI-LED ARAB COALITION MUST SHOW TRUE FACE OF ISLAM

Jakarta, 1 Rajab 1436/20 April 2015 (MINA) – Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister, Retno LP Marsudi stated, the Saudi-led Arab coalition countries should show the true face of Islam that is merciful for all creatures.

“Islam teaches to spread peace and Islam is the religion of mercy to all creatures in the universe. So let’s show the true face of Islam that is merciful for all creatures,” Retno said after the Ministerial Meeting of the 60th Asian-African Conference in Jakarta on Monday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, has received a report that the Indonesian embassy in Yemen are affected by a bomb attack carried out by Arab coalition warplanes on Monday, April 20 at 10.45 local time.

“All the vehicles in the embassy were damaged and some of the staffs were injured. We condemn the attack,” said Retno.

Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (Embassy) in Sanaa, Yemen added. The bomb destroyed 90 percent of the Embassy building.

The coalition forces of a number of Arab states led by Saudi Arabia launched air strikes to some  regions held by Houthi rebels in Yemen. The attack on March 25, 2015 marked the beginning of a military intervention in Yemen with the code name Operation Decisive Storm.(L/p008/P3)
