Diversity of Indonesia at the Main Stage of the Opening 18th Asian Games

Jakarta, MINA – The opening ceremony of the 18^th 2018 Asian Games was held on Saturday night at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) Jakarta. Indonesian President Jokowi opened the event.

MINA’s  reporters in SUGBK reported that the opening ceremony of the 2018 Asian Games featured the concept of natural beauty and indigenous Indonesian cultural diversity.

Inasgoc as the organizing committee formed the main stage with a beautiful mountain, filled with more than thousands of plants, flowers and waterfalls and surrounded by green grass around the stage.

The concept above is reinforced by projectors and lighting that makes everything more beautiful to be looked at. This stage is the work of 350 Indonesian people.

The audience has been able to enter the SUGBK area since 03.00 pm. Inasgoc only gives the audience three hours, because at 18:00 West Indonesia Time all gates access into the SUGBK are closed.

As scheduled, President Jokowi greeted the audience at 7:00 p.m. Then proceed with the parade of athletes at 19.45 WIB. The event closed at 10:00 p.m.

The biggest sports event in Asia followed by 45 countries that compete in 40 sports and will run until September 2.

The 18th Asian Games was opened with a colossal show as evidence to the world that Indonesia is a great nation and able to hold an international scale event.

As many as 40 thousand tickets which were distributed by the organizing committee and have been sold out before the day of opening. (L /R06/P2)
