Brussels, 12 Safar 1437/23 November 2015 (MINA) –  Five more people have been arrested in Belgium in connection with the Paris attacks, prosecutors said Monday, taking the number arrested since Sunday night to 21.

The arrests came during raids on five addresses in Brussels and Liege, Anadolu Agency quated by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA).

On Sunday, 16 suspects were arrested in 19 raids. The public prosecutor said Salah Abdeslam, who has been named as one of the Paris attackers who escaped to Belgium within hours of the Nov. 13 attacks, was not among the earlier arrests.

Brussels is in a third day of “lockdown” with the subway system, schools and universities closed as heavily armed police and soldiers patrol the streets.

A number of the Paris attackers, who killed 130 people, were French nationals living in Belgium and plotter Abdelhamid Abaaoud — killed last week in a police raid in Paris — was Belgian. (T/P010/R03)
