Barghouti: International Community’s Silence Encourages Settlement

Ramallah, 7 Ramadhan 1437/12 Juli 2016 (MINA) – The Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative, Mustafa al-Barghouti, charged the international community with responsibility for the escalation of the pace of settlement expansion in the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem due to its failure to impose sanctions on the Israeli occupation.

Barghouti said, in a statement on Saturday, that the Israeli decisions of establishing 82 new settlement units in Shufat hill and 150 new other units in Gilo outpost in addition to hundreds of others in Har Homa settlement reflects Israeli exploitation of the silence of the international community which turns a blind eye to the Israeli violations and refrains from imposing sanctions on Israel, The Palestinian Information Center (PIC) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
