Azerbaijani Ambassador to Indonesia Visits Orphanage in Jakarta
Jakarta, MINA – The delegation of the Embassy of Republic of Azerbaijan to Indonesia led by the Ambassador Jalal Mirzayev held a social visit to the Putra Setia Orphanage, Kramat Sentiong, Central Jakarta, on Sunday.
The event was held in the context of Commemorating the Day of His Death (Haul), the Father of Modern Azerbaijan, who is also the Father of Azerbaijan’s National Development, Heydar Aliyev.
Mirzayev was accompanied by Emil Ahmadov, Secretary II; Intigam Huseynov, Secretary III; and Nia S. Amira (Media Consultant and Management of the Study of Islamic Countries especially the countries of the former Soviet Union and Yugoslavia). They were greeted by 42 orphans and 35 elderly people who enthusiastically gathered in the hall.
“This meeting coincides with the Day of the Death of the Azerbaijan Nation on 9 December 2003. We all commemorate the day of death of Mr. Heydar Aliyev, who continues to inspire us until now, hopefully the next generation of Azerbaijan people can continue to follow in his footsteps in developing the country, “Mirzayev said when delivering his remarks.
The State Founding Father of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, was the President of Azerbaijan in 1993-2003.
Mirzayev stated that the event was held for the first time in the orphanage to commemorate services of statesmen and founding fathers of Azerbaijan which had changed Azerbaijan to become more advanced and modern.
“He is the leader of nation who built the modern nation of Azerbaijan. He is also a good friend for children, also good friends with the elderly. In Azerbaijan, there are also social institutions like this under the auspices of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, “he said.
Mirzayev said he was committed to channeling the help needed by the orphanage. “I as Ambassador of Azerbaijan with my staff will often visit here (orphanage). Furthermore, I will also return to visit here with my family, “he added.
Putra Setia Orphanage is one of the Social Institutions under the auspices of Istri Sejahtera Foundation which was founded in 1931. Where one of the founders was Maria Ulfah Subadio Sastrosatomo, one of Indonesia’s female leaders.
The head of Putra Setia Orphanage, Sumiyati (72), was grateful and felt her happiness at the visit of Ambassador Mirzayev with the entourage of Azerbaijan Embassy.
“Alhamdulillah, we are very thankful and grateful for the kindness given by Ambassador Mirzayev along with the embassy group (Azerbaijan) who came to our place today and met with children to share with,” said Sumiyati, who has served at the orphanage for more than 12 more.
She explained that currently the orphanage had 42 foster children consisting of orphans and underprivileged from kindergarten to academy. The foster children also came from various regions including Lampung and Karawang.
The foster children were very pleased with the presence of the Ambassador of Azerbaijan and his entourage. “It was very nice to meet the Ambassador of Azerbaijan. The proud also because the first time (orphanage) can be visited by a ambassador, “said Titin Rahmawati (18) foster children from Cianjur.
The top activity was carried out by praying, having lunch with foster children and elderly and giving goodiebag to the 42 foster children who were welcomed with joy. The event ended with a group photo. (T/Sj/P2)
