As 20 Indonesian Islamic Youth Organization Hold Ummah’s Economy Conference

Jakarta, MINA – A total of 20 Islamic youth organizations held an Islamic Youth Conference in Jakarta on Thursday which discussed awakening Ummah’s (Community) economic.

The event themed “Spirit of Awakening Economic Community” was opened by Indonesian Minister of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform, Syafruddin, who was also Deputy Chairman of Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI).

“This Islamic Youth Conference is based on the spirit of nationality in the process of struggle. In addition, youth feel there is no independence of Muslims in the economic sector, “said Philmar Rezha, Chair of the 2019 Islamic Youth Conference Implementation Committee.

This conference was held due to the importance of economic sector, the affairs of ummah and mosque as the main pillars towards a sovereign, just, and prosperous nation.

Philmar explained that this forum was the first meeting of Islamic youth organizations throughout Indonesia. The forum also focused on arousing the economic independence of ummah.

“There is no political nuance. Basically, when friends gather they want to concentrate first on the issue of ummah’s economic independence, “he said firmly.

The figures who present at the event, Minister of Communication and Information, Rudiantara as Chairman of Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Information. While the Minister of Trade in 2014, M Lutfi, together with the Secretary General of Indonesian Ulema of Council (MUI) Anwar Abbas were presented as speakers at the event.

The 20 organizations present included PP KAMMI, DPP IMM, HIMA PERSIS, PB HMI, PP GPII, PMI SI, JPRMI, PUI Youth, DPP SEMMI, DPP PRIMA DMI, PB PII, Pemuda PERSIS, PB HMI MPO, PP GP AL WASHLIYAH, PB SEMMI, PP Youth Da’wah Council, Prima DMI, Pemuda Al Irsyad, and Syabab Hidayatullah. (L/Sj/P2)
