Al-Quds Residents Perform I’tikaaf at Al-Aqsa Mosque

Al-Quds, MINA – Residents of Al-Quds in large numbers came in droves to Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday night to perform i’tikaaf, after dozens of settlers Jews invaded the mosque, along with the continuing attacks carried out by Israeli occupation police against mosque worshipers in the morning.

According to Palinfo from Islamic Waqf Department, 75 Jewish settlers, including an intelligence officer, stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday morning via the Maghariba Gate (west door of al-Aqsa mosque) and toured the mosque area with tight security from Israeli occupying police forces.

Islamic Waqf Department stated that was shocked by the raid of Jewish settlers whereas Israeli police a day earlier told that they would not open the west gate for Jewish settlers for last ten days of Ramadan.

Israeli occupation forces arrested three worshipers from inside Al-Aqsa Mosque and took them to one of detention centers in the city for interrogation.

Israeli occupation forces closed Maghariba Gate at 11:00 a.m. after the invasion of Jewish settlers ended, and they protected them during a tour in Al-Aqsa Mosque area.

Israeli occupation police continued to limit the entry of pilgrims into Al-Aqsa Mosque and examine personal identities of pilgrims, even in the atmosphere of worship in Al-Aqsa mosque area during the holy month of Ramadan.

Israeli police continue to drive the young men who give a tribute to Al-Aqsa Mosque, and every day to force them out of the mosque. (T/Sj/P2)
